I keep reading the title of this thread as "ironic buildings", which adds an extra dimension to the photos.
Love that last pic!

Nice colors, riki. Love how the yellow pops out from the greyed background.

I am now wondering if there are any state capitols that did not build a cupola.

Perhaps they were built so long ago that electric lighting and airconditioning were not options, but a cupola could let in light AND create a draft by allowing hot air to escape the top of the building...

What a beautiful view, Mossie! Where exactly is Beachy Head?

Beachy Head is in Sussex, where the South Downs fight a losing battle with the English Channel. The cliffs are solid chalk and similar to the White Cliffs of Dover which are where the North Downs end. The Downs are the twin ranges of chalk hills which form the backbone of south east England

Stunning....every one.
Mossie...did you dangle precariously off the cliff to that image of Beachy Head Lighthouse?

Cheery you should know me better than that. I am the original scaredypants nothing is done precariously. I took the snap from the far side of a little bay

Don't believe him. I know for a fact he took it while hang-gliding. (great picture, Mossie!)
Love that shot of the tower, Lugg. It's so beautifully framed by the clouds.
