Remember the Blood Moon Supermoon tomorrow night! Visible in all of North and South America, Greenland, Iceland, England and parts of continental Europe. In my Mountain Time zone it begins to eclipse at 8:43 pm and enters totality at 9: 41, for over an hour. Unfortunately, it’s supposed to be snowing by then here...

There is not a snowball's chance in hell of seeing the werewolf moon in Paris tonight. There is a great chance of seeing a snowball, though.
However, I do know that if by some miracle the sky were to clear, the best viewing time here is between 05:00 and 06:00.

Thanks for the reminder! I had forgotten and didn't realize it was already the 20th.
Hope we get to see it here. No telling right now how clear it will be.

The eclipse began here at 8:36 pm. I took the (bad) moon picture at 8:52 & the patio picture at 8:54. As you can see, the eclipse is practically not there -- I believe there is a hint of it at around the eleven o'clock position on the moon. The moon is shining over my patio on the west side & slightly south, so illuminating the opposite wall of the patio. No lights on outside, no flash, absolutely no editing, and look how the picture came out. It's chilly & fairly clear out tonight.

I go outside now and then to see if it’s getting darker. Too cloudy at present to actually see the moon but at least the snow has stopped.

Nice, K2! I can’t believe the eclipse is happening without me! I can’t even tell that it’s getting darker out. :-(

Nice pictures, Kerouac. I went & got my Lumix because the zoom is better than on my good camera, but the zoom wasn't working at all! The eclipse website for Oaxaca says total eclipse begins at 10:41 (maximum will be at 11:12). I took this picture at 10:42. The moon has risen quite a bit. Picture is not good, but give a fairly good idea of how the moon looks right now ~

Mine were taken around 05:45. I made an effort. (Actually, that is when I usually get up these days; if I hadn't heard it mentioned again on the radio when I woke up, there is every chance that I would have forgotten all about it already.)

Well done Kerouac, I had to get up as usual about 5 which is the second or third trip to the bathroom most nights, old age has its drawbacks. I had to go outside to be able to see the moon and did see the full effect, but it was far too cold to mess about and I was very quickly back to bed.

I frankly was not at all pleased with opening my kitchen window since the temperature was about -3°.

I'm usually pretty cynical about lunar eclipses, having found most pretty underwhelming but for whatever reason this one was very, very pretty.

Same with me, but this one was hyped so much, there must have been some effect on our appreciation as well. Just the fact that I looked at it was already a sign -- most eclipses, I don't even bother...

I frankly was not at all pleased with opening my kitchen window since the temperature was about -3°. My exact reasoning last evening for not even considering opening my patio door to take a photo, -27C at the time. It was beautiful though.

Mostly misty here...saw naff all until the show was over. Just the odd tantalising glimpse.

I will check my kitchen window later tonight. It is the only one with a relatively good view of a lot of the sky.

Complete overcast skies here all day, not much hope of seeing the moon tonight.
