We had 2 good downpours today. One midday and the other late pm. The temperature this evening was(is) a comfortable 80F something. The frogs are really thrilled about it as am I and everyone I encountered today. Easy weeding tomorrow.

Dawn is breaking and I am just home from shooting night exteriors...off with my t-shirt, sweater, fleecy jacket and scarf. 12C. Two people wore their full length down coats.

Wow ~~ it got that cold last night?!
Hope you took a long, hot shower, climbed into flannel nightclothes, then piled up in bed or the sofa with your fattest duvet.

rain, nothing but rain the last several weeks with an occasional visit from the sun. Lots of flooding in nearby towns.

The southern half of the country is hot and sunny and the northern half is cloudy and lukewarm. I am happy to be going to the southern half tomorrow.

Yeah -- it's really nice outside. Sunshine, blue sky, 28° in the shade and it's almost noon. So a few degrees more later on. But there is a bit of wind, so it should be fine.
Of course, I could have chosen a better day to turn on the oven to make an apricot clafoutis!

It is nice and warm in our part of the Midi too. It hasn't rained since the beginning of June. However, knowing that Kerouac is coming, Lachainemeteo is forecasting some rain for our area for four days next week.

We just had a bit of rain in the past month but the grass in my garden is yellow already, even though it hasn't been that hot. Maybe Kerouac could make a loop through the southwest on his way back to Paris, bringing his rain clouds with him?

fortunately the weather held up well yesterday and today (until about half an hour ago) - so my high school reunion and my friend's birthday both had okay weather...

So how was the high school reunion? Did you look better than everyone else? See any old flames, old enemies, dear lost friends?

Tomorrow night I will sleep in Avignon. 32° today, I think. Thunderstorms may be on the way; perhaps I will not see the fireworks on the 14th after all. I read that last year they were called off due to the Mistral and rescheduled for the 22nd.

Thank goodness we seem to have gotten back to a typical steamy hot New Orleans summer with some fairly regular isolated downpours to make everything lush, lush. Now come the mozzies which were relatively at bay earlier in the season. Ah well, can't have it all.,but I do hate the little f'ers.

bixa - was better than i expected. not great, but bearable... saw old flames and ignored them, the worst old enemies didn't show up, saw a few old friends and am considering to try taking the friendship back up... talked to various people i hadn't had that much to do with in school times... and obviously i look better than everyone else. but it seemed like i am almost hte only one without a baby or very precise baby plans...

They are blinded to your beauty by the piggy fat around their beady eyes. Either that or incapable of recognizing anything beyond the blandest versions of popular attractiveness.

July has given us more rain in the last two weeks then all of May and June. I am loving it(and so are the weeds and the frogs and unfortunately the mozzies). Hope you get some relief t63. Don't envy your heat.
