So, it is the first day of autumn in our hemisphere and the last day of summery weather in northern France. As of tomorrow, temperatures are supposed to start going below normal. And maybe some rain at last!

We have been getting quite a lot of rain since the weekend but right now it's a mix of sun and clouds and 24°.

It abruptly stopped raining a couple of days ago, although there was lots of threatening with heavy clouds, thunder, & brief drizzles. It is trying to really rain right now, but in an oddly tentative fashion.

Yesterday 36C and today we continue to feel very uncomfortable at 37C. My lettuces will all have to be picked or shrivel and probably bolt.

We had a little bit of rain today, but I would like a FULL day of rain, the kind about which we love to complain.

I moved house last Saturday. The clouds started building up to a heavy grey by lunchtime.Just as we finished Adelaide and environs got hit with a freak storm with trees down and thunder and lightning. The trees were lashing around I feared for the pot plants I had brought. Since then it has just been cold and wet and this morning we had snow which lasted an hour and then dissolved into mud.
What have I done!!!

It wasn't your fault, Questa!
This whole night it was really windy, and an occasional clap of thunder and heavy rain. Today's forecast is for storms with 80-90 kph gusts of wind. Fortunately the leaves are still mostly green so they aren't all blowing off the trees.

Third day of rain. Yesterday we had terrible gusts of wind --80 kph according to the weather website. A bit less strong today, but still windy and when it rains it pours. It was only 13° this morning.

Pleasantly cooler here, upper 70F's, rain showed up early this morning that were not in any of the forecasts. Light intermittent showers out of nowhere.

I've been away for a few days but came home a day early as the weather changed abruptly from sunny and low 20's to a howling North wind and rain with a high of 10. I have the heating on at home...

Climate change has become so extreme that the city of Nancy had its all time low temperature record today after having its all time high temperature record just 11 days ago.
Quite cool in Paris and we had several hours of rain for once.

The weather in September usually remains very hot here. It generally doesn't get cool until about mid-October. This September has been to the exception and thus far we have had two cool fronts push through. Yesterday's and on into this morning we have had gloriously cool weather which is supposed to stick around for at least a few days. It makes for really pleasant sleeping with all the windows and balcony doors open. Gratefully we haven't had a huge mosquito problem. Probably because last month they did 2 or 3 aerial sprayings. So, mid 70F's in the daytime and upper 60's, low 70's at night. It also herald's T's cooking up a storm which our neighbors and friends always welcome.

Clear sky and only 9° this morning. We are going away for a few days to go hiking but the forecast is not promising for the weekend. I guess we'll have to sit around, eat, drink and talk instead.

The weather can't make up its mind. Started overcast and cool so I dressed with long sleeves to go shopping. I got back in full sun and changed into a T shirt asap.

Tod, had I been still in Zambia I'd be gearing up for the hot season, but shit, I'm in Germany checking how many jumpers I've still got. I can't remember the last European winter I lived here for. I think it was 2004 or so.

It was chilly enough to use a light blanket last night. (that was with windows and balcony doors open). Upper 60's. It will warm up today and be in the mid 70F's and sunny. I live for this weather. My favorite time of year here aside from the very few weeks in the Spring mainly April and early May. There's a group of six of us that are planning a horseback riding trip/adventure to a place in Mississippi for next week. We go every year but there's a couple of people who aren't around at present so it's just six of us which is fine by me. (one guy couldn't ride for sh*t and used to hold up the rest of us).

That's almost exactly the same weather we're having here. It's a tad too chilly for my taste, but I'm enjoying the blue sky and blessed sunshine.
The riding trip should be a much-needed treat!

No no Casi - As a horse rider I feel for that poor guy who cannot master the rhythm of a horse, and who is probably hating every minute. I would take him under my wing and show him how gentle indications from the rider and the way you hold the reigns are paramount to attaining confidence. I first rode farm horses and fell off because the horse and I were unschooled. Later in my adult life I went to riding school and learned how to ride polo-cross hoses. They are so easy because they anticipate your next instruction through leg movement , or hands , through the reigns. Most horses that are ridden by a multitude of novices and also perhaps are not ridden that often, cannot be blamed. Or maybe ridden too often by non-riders.
I would love to hear your take on why some of you can ride and why others cannot.

I would love to hear your take on why some of you can ride and why others cannot. Sociopaths make poor riders because they have no empathy and no sense of what another animal/being is feeling. Dancers and musicians make good riders because of their innate sense of rythm. That's my theory.

Very envious ... have fun weather is shite here - cold, incessant rain and for the next few days much the same , but it has been quite lovely for much of the last couple of weeks.

Horseback riding isnt something that city girls do much...altho even when I lived in the countryside when several friends had their own ponies it wasn't ever something I particularly wanted to do.
The weather here today is a bit dreary tbh. Overcast, cold, drizzle...meh.

To answer your questions and comment on this guy and why some people can ride comes down to one thing in the instance of this fellow. He acts like a clown and does all the wrong things when it comes down to even the basics of riding a horse. He got away with it once in blaming the horse but, further antics of his proved he just had no respect for the horse or the group of us who were forced to tolerate his juvenile behavior. He has demonstrated the same behavior on other outdoor trips, once on a tubing trip down a river where he intentionally went past the drop off spot and the owners of the tubing business had to send a boat out looking for him as it was approaching dusk. The only reason he was included in these outings is he is good friends with two of the other members of the group as they find him to be amusing. The rest of us have near zero tolerance for him. Immature, juvenile, adolescent behavior from a 50 plus year old, no.

Oh Casi - What an arsehole. It is cruel to let him anywhere near a horse….or any animal actually. I find people like that are extremely low in self-esteem and try to cover their inadequate shortcomings by acting the clown. He needs some direct talking to ( on the side…).humiliating him in front of others could turn that dumb brain into revenge mode……you know what I mean.
Now the weather here down south….miserable.

That pretty much nails it Tod. I rarely see the guy and will nod or say hello when I do run into him but he is not someone I seek out for company let alone go on an adventure with especially riding horses. I fear one day he will end up injuring himself or the animal should he continue on with this behavior.
It's another gorgeous day here. A tad chilly in the wee hours of the morning. My Northern friends would label me a "woos" for saying this as upper 60F's are not considered chilly at all up there.
