It was only 6° here this morning! But now the sun is shining and it has already gone up to 15° at 1pm. We should get a few more degrees this afternoon.

3° in Paris this morning, which convinced me to ride a municipal bike to the cinema. I briefly considered getting out my gloves for the season but decided against it, which I almost regretted 10 minutes later. But since my hands were not frozen when I arrived 21 minutes later (the bike station tells you how long you were riding), I understood that gloves were not yet necessary.

Low cloud and rain, But I'm looking at a beautiful sunny afternoon in Ryde Isle of Wight. The two Hovercraft are beached and I can see Portsmouth in the distance over the water. Often seagulls come to sit in front of the camera on top of the roof of the Esplanade Hotel. That is a study in different coloured moss for a start!

A year ago on this date we had 13” of snow on our deck, and -7 F temps. This year we tied a record high of 75 degrees on Friday, and have been enjoying glorious autumn colors.
That all ends today. Cold and rainy, with wind ripping the leaves from the trees. I am SO not looking forward to what comes next.
(Except for the escaping to Florida part!)

It was sunny and 19°C this afternoon. We went for a walk on the beach -- some little kids in wetsuits, but also one guy just in a bathing suit in the water, which is about 17° these days.
We had a downpour in the night so that watered the garden.

We finally got some much needed rain last evening. A violent thunderstorm with wind driven rain. Followed today with a cool front, 60F's, clear and sunny. My kind of weather.

On the news, they have been showing us the "medicanes" hitting Sicily. Small Mediterranean hurricanes -- something that didn't exist in the past.

It's all sparkly outside here, due to a fairly good rain while the sun shines through the falling drops and on the nice wet plants.

Sounds lovely Tod!
Sun and cloud today and about 8C. Yesterday the dock was pulled out of the lake and today Mr. M. switched over our sumemr tires for the winter tires, a pre Halloween tradition. Leaves are all down, mowed and raked, eavestrough drains all cleared and the outdoor furniture all stored and covered. Snow/sleet forecasted next week.

A tad chilly early this a.m. So much so that I wanted to pull out some cool weather clothing before realizing that they are all packed up "somewhere" but, not here. Time to hit the thrift shops for a few items. Of course, I no sooner do this and it will turn warmer again and I have promised myself I won't get back into having too large a wardrobe as before.
I just missed seeing your post Mich. All that winterizing so soon! I don't envy you a bit. I think of sleet as being one of the nastiest of elements in the world of weather. BRRRRRR!!!!! Stay snug dear.

We had the most terrific cloudburst this afternoon. My pool is overflowing and all water reserve tanks are full. It was really scary at times.

Is this unusual for this time of year Tod?
Casi I so agree about sleet. November weather depresses me, the sleet and freezing rain and that everything is in decay. Once the snow begins accumulating and covers everything in a brilliant white, my mood improves.

Huge thunderstorms hit Adelaide..17000 lightning strikes, cyclonic winds causing trees and buildings to fall or otherwise cause damage. Hail as big as tea-cups smashed windows and dented vehicles and it was really scary. The electricity went out and the drains filled with ice, and with the rain belting down, flooded the roads.
Lotsa damage...roofs off, trampolines in the next neighbourhood and trees down everywhere. Then as quickly as it hit it blew away. We had 3 months of rain in 11 minutes. Pretty spectacular though!

No rain at the moment but it's about 15° this morning. Nearly 10° higher than the clear mornings we have been having. Not an especially nice forecast for the next days -- cooler and some rain, but it is almost November.

Is this unusual for this time of year Tod? Yes Mich, but usually after a stinking hot day- about 36=42C - with huge clouds arriving with thunder and lightning. We were having our first warm day in a long time and only getting up to 28C. The storm was obviously coming from further afield and only this morning did we notice a warning about the possibility on Mr.Todds phone.
