Waiting for the ice on the lake to fully melt. It is dark colored and rotten, and free-floating, with openings between ice floes where ducks are dabbling.
I witnessed a pair of cinnamon teal mating in the water this morning. Yesterday I watched bald eagles catch fish in the small gaps in the ice. I speculate that the fish come near the surface for the oxygenated water and the eagles snag them with their talons.
Montana is (already) getting smoky air from Canadian wildfires, but it’s hard to tell smoke from the generalized low clouds and mist.

It was only 8° here this morning with a clear sky. We got to about 20° this afternoon, with lots of sun but a lot of wind too.

Last night was hectic! I was so cold I got a pair of wool socks for my cold feet from Mr.Tod and slept warmly all night. It is cold tonight but not like yesterday.

Mild (17° at 8:30am) and overcast but we haven't had any of the rain that was supposed to come yesterday and overnight.

They said this morning that this was the latest in the year that Paris has reached 25° in more than 20 years. Usually it happens in April or early May.

Those warm temperatures and wind have completely dried out the garden. The grass is already turning brown. For days we have been getting forecasts of rain or storms but they all seemed to pass us by. However, at the moment I hear some thunder and the sky is getting darker so perhaps we'll be lucky. I was debating whether or not to go out and water with the hose but now I'll wait until tomorrow morning to see if we finally get some rain. 22° at 9pm.

It did finally rain last night but not as stormy and windy as predicted. This morning the paths are dry, perhaps because it was 17° overnight. Foggy right now at 7am.

After nearly a week of thunderstorm forecasts, rain forecasts with little result, I went out this morning at 8 and started to water the plants. Five minutes later it started to rain.

It has been really hot this week! Again today we are at 30C, full sunshine with just a bit of a breeze. Tomorrow is predicted to be the same and Saturday it hopefully will drop down to 25C. Saturday my brother is getting married! This week we will probably end up recording the highest temperatures of the entire summer even though summer has not even officially begun as of yet!

Nice and sunny in northern France with a temperature of about 26-27° in the afternoon, but there is a hot blast coming from Spain in a couple of days

21 consecutive days in Paris without rain. That's the first time it has happened at this time of year since 1949.

Every day we see these huge storm clouds building up north and east of us but get no rain. It must be the proximity to the coast that affects the clouds. It was 28° and mostly sunny today.

31° and hazy. Still no rain even though yesterday afternoon it got windy and dark clouds blew overhead. There was flooding 20 kms away but nothing here.

27°C this afternoon. It smells like rain atm (10pm) but it's still warm and muggy. Tomorrow we are supposed to be getting thunder and lightning storms in the afternoon.

We just spent two days in Bayonne. Hot and sunny despite the continuing storm and rain forecasts, just like here. On Friday morning we had decided to take the bus but discovered they were on strike after we stood at the stop for 20 minutes. So we drove and went through a massive downpour about 15 km from home. Nothing of the sort in Bayonne or here but at least it washed most of the dirt off the car while we were in it. My garden is pining for rain and much of the grass is brown. High 20s every day.
