We know whom you're talking about.

This fits more in the random thought thread, but I'm wondering what new avatars some of us might pick if we were to change. I know some of you have changed before, but I haven't been around long enough to even think about it until bixa's question popped up. I've gotten so use to the current avatars it would seem strange to me is some of you changed.
However......after looking I now see several regulars have no avatars at all. Hmm....

I think your comment fits perfectly here! Not random at all. I'll see if I can remember/dredge up any of my previous avatars.

Here's one. I think it's the first one I had on this forum ~ (<-- only an approximation)

*click click* Thanks!
I've had the current avatar for ages, not because I'm particularly attached to it, but just because now it's my avatar.
Someone once commented that it's confusing when people change their forum avatars, as then the brain needs to learn a new thing for quick recognition when scrolling down the page. I guess that makes sense, although ........
(edited to say I have not idea what my avatar was in Feb. of 2013)

Who is avatar-less? Do you want one, or not? Does this thread inspire you or dismay you? Did anyone ever take you up on your offer, bixa?

No. Guess they're all content to move invisibly through the forum, dazzling us with their words or pictures, but remaining hidden behind an intriguing curtain of mystery.

Anyone bored with his/her present avatar or avatarless because of lack of inspiration may want to check out the ones available here. A few new ones have been added, with the hope that more tastes will be served. Profile > Edit Profile > Avatar > Use a Forum Avatar - Pick One <-- click on "Pick One"

I just had a look through them and didn't see anything that inspired me. In any case, I don't see anybody's avatar when I am on Anyport. Must be my Linux-based system.

How did you get your mini-profile to say "bjd Avatar"?

It does?

Yes. It used to show the default avatar for anyporter's who have no avatar: , but now it shows that bit of text instead.

Hmm. You are the IT specialist, Bixa, not me. It seems to depend on which browser I use. The wifi here is not too good so we are using Opera (instead of Firefox) under Linux, and when I logged in, I get the same green screen as at home with nothing appearing where everybody's avatars are. The other day I finally tried using Windows, and I indeed saw "bjd avatar", along with everybody else's picture.

To whomever might want it ~ there is an unclaimed witch waiting in the avatars.

Yo, Mossie! I have been puzzling over your avatar. (very nice, by the way)
What does it mean, please?

It simply says "I love the 19e arrondissement of Paris".
It was on an old industrial site which is now apartments.

Since the last time (2015) I suggested people might want to browse through the forum avatars for something they'd like or just for inspiration, others have been added. This is just a sample -- as many as I could fit with Screen Capture. There are more, including some that are perhaps more masculine than these.

As a proud Belgian, I guess you're honor bound to have a cartoon character.

I nearly chose the dog for mine a couple of years ago. I will see what I have in my avatar collection for a fresh one for the New Year.

You're saying that to the wrong person. If I had a royal crest, it would probably have a bottle of beer on it.
