Help me identify an old French movie

It's not too old - made in the 80s or perhaps late 70s. I saw it on TV in the mid - late 80s and caught it halfway through to boot.

It's set in Paris and a young woman - stocky, brunette - is a paid companion/ sitter for an elderly woman who is very contrary. I distinctly remember one scene where the old lady pees on a living room chair while her daughter (or daughter-in-law) has guests.

The ending has both women running away to have adventures.

Every so often I think of this film and I would dearly love to see it again. I can't remember much but that old lady was a pistol.

K, thanks so much. I thought you would be able to help me. Funny, I remembered the companion as a brunette. Just goes to show you how unreliable our memories can be. Plus I thought I had seen it in the 80s - good trick on my part since it was made in 1990. ;D

Now, to find the movie here.....I'll check in Montréal as I'll have a much better chance of getting it there.

It's full of all kinds of movies which can be watch online, mostly for a fee, but I'll be damned if I can figure out how to search the site. It would seem to be the perfect place to find a film such as Tatie Danielle.

bix. I didn't know they changed the name. I was never notified. Did Scorcese give it up?
