bixa, what is the setting for the first portrait? And is she smiling or crying? Or crying tears of joy?

Oh Wow,all three sets of eyes in that pic focused in different directions!!
I love all these,BJD,yours is fabulous.
Bixa, the man in that shot behind the bars,he so resembles a writer of some notoriety. If not then the pic makes him look so,brilliant.

Thanks. Yeah, I thought that man had a wonderful face. The women are discussing an important purchase. Later I will unveil the show window with their choices, just outside the left margin of the picture.

"Portrait of Woman with Cell Phone"
These days it's getting hard to catch a portrait of anyone without a phone in their hand!

I can almost imagine a cell phone in the hand of the woman in 2nd photo in bixa's 135...
Mark's neighbors look so different from mine!

Super photos Mark - Reply 139, the woman with the orange headscarf is terrific. I see just peeping out under the scarf a teeny bundle of something. If it's a herb mixture to ward off evil spirits then it is akin to the "muti" bags worn around the necks of the africans here.
Reply 140 - Who took that photo of you and the last of the whisky? ;D

The woman in the headscarf was the 'dhobi wallah', the laundry woman at a campsite in Johdpur, India. The guy on the boat is another tour leader who always liked his beer and dressing in the local garb. The last one is a random man in an Egyptian restaurant.

The laundry woman has a lovely and regal face. The last one instills a fear in me that a stranger may one day post an unflattering photo of me online.

Thank you, kerouac. In fact I just wanted to photograph the graffity, but he jumped in front of my lense.

Then that is a portrait that is both "random" and "furtive", and joyful as well.

And I love that you used the phrase "furtive joy", Kerouac! It's a delightful photo, Amboseli.
