IF the oz team decide to get their batsmen to score, it should be a good match. As it is both teams are light on luck or talent...got the talent but making silly mistakes.England has the experienced mob , Oz has youth but need more matches.Blame covid.

As the late great Richie Benaud would say..."Absolutely marvellous". Oz has a new hero, Scott Boland. The way the crowd reacted every time he moved and the roar from the old Bay 13 could be heard from afar. Got his six wickets in the most decisive fashion. He is Aboriginal and the ACB had a big search to find any direct descendants of the original team. Apparently there are lots but they chose a great-something woman to give a speech and receive a medallion from those early days.
It was quite a Test with Cummings yes,no, yes and 2 of the "Touring Party" with their wives testing positive and nearly closing down the whole shebang.
I'm exhausted...catch you in Sydney Cricket Ground next week.

And making his debut at 32. Ourlowest Test total since 1904.
It really can't get any worse.

From memory SCG often has stormy weather and the covers are out etc. Maybe England can do better on a wet deck?
Oops! I see I have given Mr Cummins a 'G' in his name.
The word is that what the Bay 13 used to do (dress up, sing songs, send up fielders etc) over Merv Hughs they will do for Scott. He has been idolised already. Took him 10 years of hard slog to become the 'overnight success' he is.

Being thrashed by Australia yet again. Our tour batting statistics are the worst since 1888.

I think it is time for some new blood to be introduced into the panel of selectors and the players. At times the England team looked like they were just going through the motions...the TV broadcast even set cameras up at the nets and we could watch the team players having a warm up. There was a crowd watching them, no doubt wishing something more interesting was happening on the field. The Forth Test showed that exciting 5 day matches can be played but the Eng players and Selectors need a bit of a shake-up. 🤔

Aussie cricketer Shane Warne, 52, probably one of the best ever has died of a heart attack.
And that on top of the death of another great Aussie cricketer, Rod Marsh 74 also a heart attack.

Yes Mick, I was at my grandsons cricket match when a Priest ( in a long black cassock) turned to us and said "Shane Warne has just died". What is a Priest doing at cricket you may ask? Simple answer : It is a Anglican School.

Terrible news for Cricket fans...We had 2-3 days of praise and memories for Rod Marsh and were starting to think of other things when out of the blue comes the news about Shane Warne. In his 52 years he proved to be the master spin bowler and with his first ball against "The Poms", bowled what came to be known as the "Ball of the century". He was a sly fox in the field and batted above usual bowler level.
My TV has been on for 2 hours and there are VIPS from all the countries all remembering famous Warnie anecdotes and his behaviour on and off the field, but mostly admiring the man who revolutionised cricket.
Vale Shane Warne

Actually, the Grim Reaper has probably sent us down a few good balls that should have been called, but the Third Umpire has ruled us "Not Out".

I feel sorry for Rod Marsh's family as he has been sidelined from the recognition he deserved in the mad rush to deify Shane Warne. The Victorian Government is giving Shane a State Funeral in a couple of weeks. I read that Piers Morgan is itching to get a posthumous knighthood for him as well. The aircraft is flying the remains home, no doubt there will be crowds to meet it. Later there will be the funeral at the MCG... they expect 40,000 to attend.

I'm just learning about cricket - for instance: I asked my grandson of 11years old why the opposition team had not taken a wicket yet but we had taken two. The reply was simple "Because they are batting and we are bowling"
My husband thinks Shane Warne was the greatest bowler in cricket history.

It was not just his bowling although that was freakishly brilliant, but his whole nature was in the mix. A Master of psychological warfare, he often froze the batsmen by giving a running commentary of what he would bowl, and how in spite of their efforts, the batsmen would do just what he'd said. He took everything with a laugh and played for the fun of it. Although 52 is far too young to leave us, I don't think he would enjoy old age. He was a shooting star...brilliant but gone so soon.

I was told there are suspicions that the booster shot he received had something to do with his death. Who else heard this?

Rubbish...he would have had his booster ages ago. This is another of the anti vaxxes to create mischief out of misery.

There is the custom that when a boy can grow a fairly healthy moustache, he is old enough to go to war (ie he gets a gun)
When he can grow a beard to cover his face, he should be married. Muslim men are not supposed to cut or shape their beards. In Oz there is the style they call a "Bushranger Beard" after the 19th Century Ozzie Ned Kelly look-alikes. My son #2 has one!
