These photos have a very surreal like quality given the wide open landscape in the background Imec.A racetrack out in the middle of nowhere it seems. On their own,(the cars), I don't know if they would have the same appeal or effect. Great composition.

Love the breathless feel of speed in that bicycle race picture, Kerouac, and the way you cropped it to enhance the effect.
Great, bustling photos, Askar. I particularly like the first one, with its blocks of color, that horizontal bar on the upper left, and the almost cartoon-like "movement lines".

How do you take pics like that with a point and shoot? I can't figure out what to switch off.

I have never taken a blurred speed picture on purpose. It just happens. (Most of them go in the garbage.)

So I'll have to read the instructions manual again... Or Rikita chips in with how she does it. If she's not too busy packing

Stupendous. Rare to see compared to a lot of the big game and more rare is to see more than one at the same time. These are the southern white rhino, so called white as a mis-translation of the word 'wide' from the Dutch 'wijd' referring to the mouth. The black rhino has a more pointed and smaller one. I'm full of useless facts.
Another one is that they have very poor eyesight, especially to the front, so Kerouac, the best thing to do is stand absolutely still - and hope they don't spot you. They do though have a really, really good sense of smell - so cut down on the aftershave huh?

Gorgeous pics, Tod. That first one, with the thorn trees and the cloud of dust makes the rhino in profile as simple and perfect as a cave painting.

Not useless information Mark - pretty darn accurate! We were right next to them when all this fracas was going on and I thought at one moment the beasts would career into us with that poor eyesight, dust and hormones raging ;D
