Fun videos about the symbols of physics and astronomy. Each one makes learning interesting, plus you get to do the kind of geeky experiments you're not set up to do at home. click!

To me it is a bit ironic that when the symbol for a female or woman is touted round by feminists - ♀ - few realise they are perpetuating their own stereotype as being only concerned with their appearance because many may understand it is the symbol for the goddess Venus (of love and beauty) but not that it is the symbol for her hand mirror in which she spent many a happy our tarting herself up in.

Interesting that the symbol for Uranus is so similar to the symbol for Mars/Man. Reaffirms those who feel that all men are assholes....

The LHC symbol reminds me of a favorite YouTube video, created by actual science geeks:

However Kimby, in Greek mythology Uranus represented heaven, so it must mean that males are closer to perfection than women?

As my niece said: "Women go to college to get more knowledge. Men go to Jupiter to get more stupider." ;D

Did anybody check to see how many of these videos are presented by women?

I haven't checked because science is above sexism. But I can report that there are two women presenting Saturn, and making it quite interesting.
