This pub dates back to 1532 - This is a 17th c house built by Sir Marmaduke Rawdon, a London wine merchant- The arch through which carriages would have come and gone- St Catherine's Priory at the top of my road-

Your village of Hoddesdon looks soooooo beautiful Mick! Did you notice the similar arch in the police station in "My stroll' essay? I am also wondering if Sir Marmaduke Rawdon is related to our David Rawdon who fixed up Matjiesfontein ( posted photos of it in 90th Birthday etc.) Please put up some more photos of your gorgeous area Mick!
