Yes, I saw that later in your Amsterdam thread. I remember getting rather lost trying to find my way from the posh southern end of Vondelpark (where I was staying, in far from posh accomodations that were later sold for a move to a less posh area) to Ten Kate market, precisely to buy chicken, as Ten Kate is cheaper than Albert Cuyp). I believe that it was deliberately designed that way.
I slept at least 5 nights in Vondelpark in 1971 when I was still a wild one. However, I was also very clever because I slept with other clever people under one of the overpasses rather than out in the lovely park under the stars. We knew that every night around 2 or 3 a.m. there was a vigourous rain shower that sent all of the scenic sleepers looking for cover -- but we had already occupied all of the spaces.
