This year's Cannes Film Festival has been moved from May to July due to the pandemic. Obviously, it was cancelled last year. I hope that it will not cast a shadow over the Tokyo Olympics or the Tour de France.

The world has become so strange that one wonders if this year's winner of the Golden Bear at the Berlin film festival is a sign of the times.

In France, there are more than 400 movies backed up waiting for release because they don't want to go straight to streaming or video.

Even though it looks like it is going to be pretty much identical, I do not disapprove of Spielberg's desire to get completely different generations to discover a totally old fashioned story and music style. Juqt imagine -- he could have made it into a rap movie.

The new Dune is looking dead serious as it should be.

I am quite pleased that Yulia Peresild has become the first actress to be able to make a movie in space. I was not happy at all with Tom Cruise's arrogant plan. Maybe he will abandon it now.

Disney's Encanto tops the box office in the United States, but what is interesting is that the #2 country is France, followed by Colombia where the movie is set. France has always been the second market of Disney films after the United States when one could have imagined a country like the United Kingdom in that position. But France has always had a great love of Disney movies, both animated and live.

I am anxiously awaiting the release of The Tragedy of MacBeth which stars Frances McDormand and Denzel Washington (both favorite actors of mine).

And I'm waiting to see this although I'm certain that it will be disappointing.

I'm sure that some will disagree, but this looks like a delightful covid antidote to me.

My wildest imagination would have never seen Harry Potter becoming Weird Al Yankovic.

Just read a review of PETITE MAMAN, a French film featuring twin sisters playing a daughter and her own mother at the same age and at the same time, interacting with each other as friends and playmates, while the grown-up mother sorts through the possessions left behind by her own mother, who has recently died.
It sounds interesting, but will likely be unavailable to me. Have you seen it K2?

It sounds interesting, but will likely be unavailable to me. Have you seen it K2? Strangely enough, I skipped it when it was out here. Céline Sciamma is an excellent director but her themes do not always appeal to me.
