Maybe the judges will sentence more people to "community service" and get them to do it.

Very cool thread. I don't remember seeing any of the last few posts.
Does the Ministry of the Interior have anything to do with transportation? I ask because that would be such a perfect building for the Transportation Ministry.
I don't think the Tours Duo design would be a big hit in Mexico City!

Does the Ministry of the Interior have anything to do with transportation? I ask because that would be such a perfect building for the Transportation Ministry. The Ministry of the Interior is in charge of internal security: police, gendarmerie, civil defence, firefighting, granting of national identity cards, driving licences and passports, immigration and religious affairs, among other things.
Wikipedia says:
This building is only an annex, because the main headquarters is right across the street from the Elysée Palace.

I like those colourful buildings, though they will look better when the little trees have grown a bit. What is the ground floor of the one at the right being used for? The other one seems to house businesses, which seems logical in such a busy area. Isn't Rosa also a tram station?

The building on the left is a big "artisan Boulanger." On the (red) right, there is probably still some commercial space available. Just to the right of what I photographed is the Rosa Parks RER station. The tram station is through the RER station on the other side.

I thought I had done so, but apparently I have not posted the transformation of the "Macdonald" building at Rosa Parks. It is reputedly the longest commercial building in Paris (I think that the Louvre is longer, but I am not sure.). The transformation was amazing because it was given to about 10 different architects who created social housing, commercial spaces, schools and private flats all in different styles while retaining the style of the lower floors of the original building.
Watch this space!

And I am reminded again of my obligation to document the "Macdonald" building, which I see at least 3 times a week.

A couple of days ago, I was in the new Clichy-Batignolles area (former rail yards) and more particularly on its main axis, rue Mstislav Rostropovitch (good luck for the people who live on that street to get their addresses written correctly). None of this existed 2 years ago.

Not quite my memories of Batignolles but at least they are building lots of housing.

I like the one near Rosa Parks as I could imagine myself sitting on the balcony with Livia, drinking various things depending on the time of day, watering our plants and looking down at life below. Some of the others are too disturbing, architects' wet dreams.

I'm wondering when this thread of photos of unrecognizable Paris will turn to pictures of most recognizable Paris, but eerily devoid of people.

In modern Paris you never have to go outside because you have all imaginable modern conveniences and connections. Okay Google!

Paris is mostly unrecognisable to me because, philistine that I am, I have only ever visited once and that was years ago. But I do like the lacy building behind the bridge. Is that housing or offices or ...?

That one is offices, I think. Not 100% sure.

That certainly looks unrecognizable to me. I would never have guessed this was Paris.
I'm dying to see Paris again. About a week ago, I saw nonstop flights from NYC this summer for as low as $280. It was mighty tempting. Of course, it's off the table now. One day.
Stay safe.

So glad to year from you, NYC girl, and stay safe! We'll see, you might be able to go to Paris this summer. Too soon to know.

Are those some kind of window shades to keep the building cooler?

Building designs are so weird now that -- who knows? So I will say yes. If I am not mistaken, this is the new building under construction for the newspaper "Le Monde" just behind the Austerlitz train station.

The " Tours Duo" are nearing completion on the edge of the city. This building has been trying to cover itself with vegetation for several years now, but the progress is slow.
