We stayed at both Talamati and Biyamiti, two bushveld camps that were cut off by floods. I'm sure that nature will recover from the floods and probably even improve. Some species require flooding to establish new seedlings (in US, that would be cottonwood trees, for example). But I'm glad we aren't there now!

....... and the wide Sabie river flowing gently past my door Yes Kimby, it would not have been good in Kruger a week or so ago! The Sabie river came down in flood and pictures on the news showed huge amounts of debris banked up everywhere. But, through all the flood drama no animals suffered ! A rescuer helping humans escape the waters heard a baby buck bleating and saw it stuck on an island of mud. The pitiful call tugged at his heart-strings and he went to rescue it although there were other more urgent scenarios of help needed. He said he just could not turn his back on the little baby.
