I did read that the Oscars had to completely redo their tributes. The presentation had been completed for a couple of weeks, but Kirk's disappearance changed everything.

While it will surprise nobody that Orson Bean died at the age of 91, the cause of death is rather astonishing -- he was run over by multiple cars in Los Angeles while crossing the street. When you consider the fact that cars in California are supposed to come to a dead stop the moment anybody steps off the curb, even if the pedestrian is in the wrong, I am really curious to find out more.

My husband, ever the conspiracy theorist, has his own queries. Mostly in that Bean, many years back, who became the father in law of Andrew Breitbart, a vocal conservative columnist, (who curiously died suddenly in 2016) began vocalizing his own conservative political views. Curious in many ways from my husbands point of view.

Max Von Sydow, Swedish actor whose early career began with key roles in many of Ingmar Bergman's films.
Later in his career he went on to perform in English speaking roles, most notably The Exorcist, Game of Thrones and others.

I hadn't realized he was that old. Sort of seemed like he was going to be around forever. He had a great face!

And I thought he was older because he already seemed old during The Exorcist, but that was makeup. He was only 43 then but his character was 80 years old. He moved to France in 1997 and became a French citizen in 2002, which was the earliest possible date. There must be a story behind that and not just his French wife -- probably some sort of administrative annoyance that becoming a citizen could solve.

Radio-Canada (radio) news pretty much devoted to Piccoli, a change from endless COVID...

I saw Michel Piccoli at the theatre two or three times, and he was such a commanding presence that the audience was petrified when he walked onstage. And of course he had one of the most outstanding "theatre voices" in history. Even if there had been 10,000 seats in a theatre, everybody would have heard him.

That's rather shocking, as he was one of those actors who never seemed to age & who was so versatile.

Chariots of fire was one of those movies that really moved me. Alien i hated it. It just stresses me. Since it was perfectly done it wirked too well on me. Lord of the rings is for me one of the biggest disappointments.
