Lucy recently died. Her name wasn't really Lucy it was Lucrecia Mc Evil She was a ratter, a hunter of mice and anything that ventured into our yard,. Chickens 0 Lucy 8 Cats 0 Lucy however many. ( I have no intention of offending cat lovers). She was a killer. She patrolled our yard with the singlemindness of a paid assassin. She was not an Alfa dog, she was a number two dog, happy to be allowed to follow. Lucy was never meant to live. She came into my life as a starved abandoned puppy. I listened to her cries for three days before I caved to having another dog. It took four bathes to discover what colour she was. I loved her for eight years. She loved me and was always grateful for a pet, a kind word, a treat and even her dinner. This evening my other three dogs are still howling for her

R.I.P. Lucy. Clearly she was a special dog, and you are probably howling with the rest of the pack, Charlie.

Lucy had big, loving eyes and the an uncanny ability to leave cold wet nose prints on the exposed flesh of any human whose attention she wanted. A savager of bones, she was immensely affectionate to people. Farewell, sweet doggy, from me and from Ginger, who misses you greatly.

The only part I hate about owning pets. My condolences...

Oh, I feel so sad for you. We lost our Jessica, a 14 year old Maltese Terrier just after Christmas. My eyes still water up when I look at the huge tub of flowers she is buried under.........

I feel your sadness and that is why when our final little maltese died with the vets assistance at the ripe old age of 25yrs, I swore that I would never own a pet dog again. My inherited cat Sebastian is the last of the pet line and I really don't look forward to his demise, but my doggies broke my heart.
