Woman loses record nails in crashAn American woman listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for her long fingernails has lost them in a car crash. Lee Redmond, of Salt Lake City, Utah, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries in the accident on Tuesday, the Deseret News reported. Redmond's nails, which hadn't been cut since 1979, were broken in the crash. According to the Guinness website, her nails measured a total of more than 8.5 metres (28 feet) in 2008, with the longest nail, on her right thumb, about 90cm (2ft 11ins) long. Don Hutson, of the Salt Lake county sheriff's department, said Redmond was thrown from an SUV in the crash and was taken to the hospital in a serious condition.

Yuckorama ~~ I saw that somewhere else, and hoped never to see it again. The thing is about people like that is that they think they look good -- that the rest of us wish we could do as well.
Setting aside the question of more intimate functions, I'm wondering how she dresses herself.

How could she do anything, groom, cook, maybe rake the garden? Then there's bodily functions, pick her nose?

How'd you like to eat food prepared by her?
In gawking at her nails the first time, I missed another important detail. What's with her hair? Note where it starts -- at the crown of her head or even further back.

I bet the ambulance crew helped a little with the fingernails breaking 'accidentally' in the crash.

Hmmm ~~ about the car crash .......... was she driving? Even with automatic transmission it would be difficult with those talons.
We could ask her -- she can probably type now!

That's disgusting.
I do know, however, that the occasional Indian yogi will grow his nails like that.

I can understand if it's a cultural/religious rite or whatever. Salt Lake City being a mecca for the Mormon faith,I seriously doubt that this is the case.
