I just installed this on my computer. It has a little icon in the tray down next to the computer clock. Mousing over that gives me the current temperature & conditions. Clicking on it opens a window with more information. I tried both this & the Weather Channel desktop weather stations, & like this one much better: www.myfreeweather.net/

I just downloaded it then found sadly it does not do my home town, Esperance, Western Australia. Strange as we do have a population of 15,000............

It's sort of quirky. If I put in the full name of my town -- which is where the airport is located -- it won't accept it. But it accepts part of it, and then displays the full, correct name. Go figure. Anyway, please check out the weather widget installed in the upper left corner of this page. WeatherZone is an Australian site, and instantly fills us in on Esperance. Here is its home page, which offers a free download so you can have it on your own computer: www.weatherzone.com.au/Here's a page of options. Please note that I've not test driven any of them: www.brothersoft.com/downloads/desktop-weather-widget.html

I use a Google Gadget for the local weather.

Really? I thought your browser had to be Chrome to use Google widgets. Thanks -- that's good to know.
