Oooh, that's a nice picture on so many levels, thrill! This is in my back yard, left from the days when the whole valley was homesteads and farms. (I haven't attempted to excavate and see if there's anything "good" in there.

Or you could just move to Mexico. Can I drive a Mad Max style armored truck? That's all they are talking about in the news.

However, if you have your heart set on it, I can arrange something as long as I get to do some kind of Tina Turner thing.

Oh too too funny you two!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D I ,too, have a particular thing for rusted iron. I have quite a collection of garden "features" of rusted out wrought iron. On a bike ride this past weekend,I found an old piece of some water pipe fitting up on the levee and went back for it later with my car to pick it up. Yes,I know,I need to take some pics..... Here's an old pic from my garden a couple of years ago.

(is there an echo in here?) Sadly, Northern Pacific RR no longer exists. It was absorbed into Burlington Northern, I believe, which has since been absorbed into the Burlington Northern Santa Fe RR. Passenger service ended long ago, and the elegant station building has been converted to other uses. Trains still run by but they are all freight trains, with the exception of an occasional special charter passenger train. Amtrak does still run through Montana, but on the "high line", up by Glacier Park. So to go anywhere on a train, I would have to drive 3 1/2 hours and overnight in a hotel.

That's a really great interpretation of the "Rust" theme in #18, Kimby -- nice surprise & great photos. The third one in #19 is a super photo, too.

I have to say that once they get the beds going, they are fantastic - a mixture of veg and some flowers but usually very original and creative. I'll take pics next year.

Could also have posted this in "fire" or even "patina" as I think this is artificially induced rust on the logs for a gas fireplace outside a Montana ski lodge.
