Oh my gosh! What did you get? What did you get?
That is profoundly food porn. How many days does it run?
Your pictures are great. The first two are classics of the "old & new" theme.

Simul-posting ~~ I didn't see your second post at first, with even more glories. Did you say "free samples"? The carvings are lovely. I really like those shoulder bags, too. When they say "continental", they apparently mean all the continents, then? I was thinking "The Continent", i.e., Europe.

Coo....we're online at the same time Bixa... ;D
I bought a little polished ammonite necklace, and 2 bracelets...one of bloodstone and one of tourmarine.
It will be there for the rest of the week. A lot of the stuff is authentic, especially the cheeses, sausages and bakery products...but most of the other stalls sell the usual crafts that you will find in shops all over the world...Asian and African carvings and fabrics. I didn't take as many pics as I could have because I was too busy looking...

It was an absolute delight to look at that amazing continental market Cheery! Everything looks wonderful. Your photos of the plants and flowers were quite unique! It seems 'Dreamcatchers' never go out of style no matter which country one visits. The colourful didgereedoos (excuse sp) were splendid!

Thanks Cheery, what a great day you must have had. Beautiful pictures. I wanted to be able to taste alot of the food shown and the crafts were so colorful. I wish we had markets like that here! thank you, Mich

That's really a great market and something that is lacking in Paris. The normal street markets will always have a few international specialties, but there is no market specifically devoted to other countries. (Actually there are vague plans for such a market in a couple of years. Who knows?)
The plants are lovely, and I would be curious to see how the big squares of potted plants get smaller as the day progresses and the plants are bought. (That would make a great little time lapse movie.)
Thanks for posting this, Cheery.

I bumped my nose on the monitor trying to get closer to that elegant quilt of succulents. What are the darling little mounded plants? Piccolo basil, maybe? (they're the thumbnail for this thread on the facebook page) The beads and bracelets are beautiful. I'm so glad you got some!

You are very welcome.... ;D I only spent about an hour browsing. They'll do a roaring trade tomorrow (Saturday) as the weather forecast is good. The schools are closed now for Easter, the town is always busy over the school holidays.

Incidentally, on the bus home there were lots of people with plants from the market....one young chap had FOUR large boxus balls (if you'll pardon the expression...) he had quite a struggle getting on and off the bus ;D
