I worry about them less because the inhabited lands of the South are generally not as far south as the inhabited lands of the North are north, so the seasons are less extreme unless you live in a place like Ushuaia.

It is 8pm and still a little daylight. Bad weather and still cold though but it's supposed to get up to 20°C by the end of the week. I can't wait... also because my holidays start then

well i know (well, internet-know) someone in ushuaia... so i will feel sorry for him now...
was very nice today. we took the kids on a little walk in this big buggy that seats six children at once. they weren't supposed to sleep because we were going to have lunch when we get back to the daycare, but one little girl was really tired and kept falling over onto hte other kids because she fell asleep...

Spring is in the air? No, SNOW is in the air, great big furry-looking flakes! You other countries are jumping the gun!

We've got about half an hour of drizzling every morning now. It's so light the road doesn't get wet. I hope we have an early rainy season.

Gyro, you have nightingales there where you are? I have always longed to hear the nightingales sing. We're in the 70'sF here today with more rain in the forecast.

I'm sure we do, but in the woods behind our place we predominately have rooks and ravens and a shed load of pheasants, and occasionally at a certain time of year, mating hedgehogs (christ! they make a noise!)
I don't think nightingales get much of a look in.

Talk about racket,we have several species of frogs and toads in our garden and the garden next door(both have small ponds). When they crank up it's unbelievable. I plan on doing an OP on them soon as they are just coming out. Some people don't like it,some are mystified as to what it is(I've had people ask me if we keep ducks because at some points they make a wack, wack kind of sound) I'm sure some people don't like it but it's not like I can quiet them down, particularly during mating season.

A mating hedgehog sounds like a pig getting raped.

A mating hedgehog sounds like a pig getting raped. Mating porcupines make quite a racket, too.

Long ago I was eating dinner in a sophisticated setting in someone's garden in Nairobi. The nearby frogs were making a din. I remarked on it. My host raised his hand, called for the 'boy' who, within seconds, was armed with a baseball bat to kill them! I was both horrified and startled. I stopped the massacre.

Spring is definitely in the air today. It's only 8.26am yet the sun is up and shining. The indoors temperature is only 20 degrees but I'm hoping on an improvement. I won't put the central heating on this morning.

It appears that spring showers are due to refresh the Château Baz area for the next three days while Paris swelters under the sun.
