I'm quite excited about it and am hoping that the BBC programme isn't going to be yet another dumbed down, sensationalist speculation fest..... I bet Dr Zahi Hawass is rubbing his hands.....

I read about this, this morning as well. Quite an achievement. I'll be interested in how things develop.
BTW, Hawass is an idiot, in my professional opinion.

If I was an amateur at recognising idiots I'd tend to be a little less clear. However, in my many years dealing with them I now hold seminars biannually. They are titled -
"Idiot Determination Involving Objective Teaching".
They are very well attended. Book tickets early.

I watched the programme... www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b011pwms/Egypts_Lost_Cities/The subject was fascinating. I am not a fan of the presentation style employed however...i.e. take 2 attractive, young presenters (albeit well educated ones) and skate across the surface of the subject..pick out the most sensational aspects of the research and make unsubstantiated idealistic claims about the possible facts this research might reveal...then add lots of glossy computer graphics demonstrating your theories. The archaeologist herself didn't make these claims as facts. I think that I'd rather have seem the research presented without all the airy-fairy suposition...of course Dr Hawass got his face on the telly... ;D There were quite a few Egyptologists interviewed and I would have liked to have heard more from them. Not an awful programme.... 9/10 for the Egyptology, 6/10 for presentation....
