Lovely to see signs of life again, even if it is all under cover!

Lovely signs of Spring, Mick! That Japanese Magnolia is magnificent. I love seeing all the alpine plants in flower and am totally in love with the fritillary.
Questions:
Is that tower of bromeliads man-made? Surely they didn't just grow that way! Impressive, whatever it is.
What is that red flower that looks like a stuffed lion toy -- it's right after the bromeliad pictures.
Is that some kind of cleome growing next to the euphorbia in your last picture on page three?
Thanks for sharing your visit with us!

The tropical hothouses are always my favourite because of the contrast with our northern climes. And I do love misting pipes.

So happy to see these pictures, Mick. Obviously Kew is wonderful in all seasons. Did your grandson get that overview shot (1st one in #93) from the Pagoda? I didn't walk all the way over there when I went, but now am wishing I had.

I love those pink things at the beginning in #102 and also those purple artichokes. The other photos are not shabby either.

Oooooo ~ Kew!
It was certainly in glorious form for your visit, Mick. Happy to see the alpine house and the rock garden again through your eyes. I went & looked at my own Kew report from two years ago to compare it to what you saw on your recent visit, since mine was at the same time of year. I'm thrilled to know that the roses are still giving their all. I see the rather prissy but effective planting outside the Palm House is more or less the same.
Of course the newly renovated Temperate House is wonderful to see. When I was there it was so clad in scaffolding, plastic, & security fencing that I couldn't even get a sense of the magnificent building. But yeah -- brash newcomers indeed! It looks as though someone was sent out at the last minute before the unveiling to pick up a bunch of house plants from the supermarket and a few tough little items from the garden center. Still, it's open again and the display will undoubtedly get better over time. The building itself is absolutely wonderful.
Thanks for the great pictures and this very enjoyable update.

I did like the formal display outside the Palm House ~ prissy but pretty! Even though I've seen photos of flowering Fouquieria, they were always in a landscape setting. Your picture is the first closeup of the flowers I've seen. Impressive!! The chenille plant is much bigger than when I was there. Third pic from the bottom is a lovely newish-looking mixed bed & the callas are outstanding.

I find it all quite lush after having visited the botanical gardens in Edinburgh in January.

I dragged mine into the GH for a few weeks, but took it out again a few weeks ago. I think that I need to repot mine too....it's in an 18" terracotta bowl atm.

Saxifraga longifolia var. aitanica ~ *waaaaaaaaaaaant!*
Well also, Aloe polyphylla, big want.
Are the hats on the cactus to be cute or are they protecting them?
Lovely pictures. The misty greenhouse looks so much more lush than when I was there.
