In the words of a friend of mine:
I am a Fine Art Degree student about to embark on my third and final year. My chosen subject is the Holocaust and the power of books.
Using the proverb ‘See no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil’ I am asking three questions to discover what makes a book significant, insightful, and potentially life changing, to you personally. To clarify, the subject of your book does not have to be the Holocaust.
Through this research I hope to gain an in-depth understanding of how such a simple resource can be so influential.
Book ……………………… Author …………………………
Mizaru – ‘ See no evil’ How did you discover your chosen book – through recommendation or is there a specific genre and style of literature you usually choose?
Iwazaru – ‘ Speak no evil’ What was it about the story or message of your book that resulted in it having such a lasting impression on you?
Kikazaru – ‘Hear no evil’ Lastly, based on your passion for the book, what words would you use to recommend it to a friend?

Hmmm... not totally clear to me, but I'll think about it.

I don't see what the monkey proverb has to do with anything. "Hear no evil" -- would you recommend the book? -- this makes no sense to me at all.

"Hear no evil" -- would you recommend the book? -- this makes no sense to me at all. sorry bjd, I decided to reproduce my friend's message in its integrity rather than interpret it. I maybe should have just asked the questions. If the questions themselves make sense, then that fine; otherwise I'll rewrite the post. let me know? thanks!

Annie, don't be sorry. The questions in themselves make sense, although I'm sorry that I don't have any books that made that strong an impression on me, so I can't answer them.

here's a simplified version of the questions:

What was it about the story or message of your book that resulted in it having such a lasting impression on you?

Hi Annie ~~ sorry, but I've just been zipping through the forum for the most part, due to time constraints & spotty access to a computer, so am just now seeing this. I'll be back home soon, & will definitely give this some thought & answer it.
