Beautiful photos of those Herero children. I also admired your photos of the Herero woman with her red concoction of ground mud and animal fat rubber all over her body including her hair. When I saw them in Namibia I wondered how on earth they put up with all the 'goo' ;D

Thanks!
These are actually Himba children, although I do have a couple of pictures of Herero women somewhere. I have to look.

I love those pictures from Namibia, nycgirl. Proof once again that there's no accounting for style!

NYCGirl, that child with the mug on her(?) head is absolutely beautiful & that is a wonderful photo. (they all are!)
Kerouac, that last picture is a real winner -- great shot.

Precious photos everybody, so hard to pick a favorite - so I won't even try. The looks on these kids faces are just wonderful, although a few of them show that life is not always fun and games. I only have one I can share right now (besides the little boys in my Shanghai thread) - thanks for starting this thread!!!!

Mossie, I like your picture. I see the reflective vests. Were the children picking up roadside trash?

First thing the nanny needs to do is get those 'elderly' children to ditch the dummy(pacifier)! After all, that woman looks like she means business! Thanks Mossie!

Yes, I was surprised to see that 3 or 4 of them had dummies. perhaps it was to stop them putting sweets or other undesirable things into their mouths. But I agree, in my book dummies are a definite no, no, at any age. Thinking about it I suppose for many years I was rarely without a cigarette in my mouth ;D

I took this pic of my grandson & his grandad who he calls Pa (my husband, the bearded wonder...or a spit image of the Boers during the war) ;D It was for a photo challenge that centered around 'Time' - hence the finger pointing to Pa's watch. It was titled "Time for Grandad".
