Had we all known many things maybe we'd be different people and not have made the mistakes we have in life. I certainly wouldn't have started all those orphanages or donated my millions to helping the environment.
Kerouac has a number in his, no one else does (?).
only ark does have a ring to it though. Sort of biblical.

I had the same thought. Is your middle name Noah?

Funnily enough I've got a slightly weird middle name. I think it's from the Balkan area - Centralp.

I believe a thread on members middle names would be quite interesting. I think many of us have middle names that have more of a story to them then our first given name. Mine is Janine, I was named after a friends of my parents from Belguim, his name was Michel and his wife was Janine. Therefore, I got Michele Janine. Were did Centralp come from? Cheers, Mich

It's hard to choose only five but after some serious thought:
1 Gleamingly white socks on grown men - particularly with shorts....grubby white socks are much better...
2 ALL Christmas (supposedly) music in shops most of the time but definitely NOT before December 1st
3 Actually all that hideous supermarket muzak....it destroys your brains you know
4 Facebook - I just do not get it......
5 People who can't be bothered to be polite....
Oh dear..I sound definitely elderly....... ;D

It's no good. I need more.... 6 Those people who you just know aren't listening to a word you're saying - they are just waiting for a chance to interrupt and whose eyes glaze over because they're rehearsing in their heads what they're going to say next. 7 Boys/men whose trousers are halfway down their arses but whose pants are up to their waists. Who conned them into thinking that's a good look?? 8 In a similar vein - adult men who wear baseball caps back to front - it's odd on boys - it's tragic on grown men... 9 The stupid kids who trashed my charity's vegetable garden last year and who seem to think it's hilarious to start doing it again this year Although maybe it's a pumpkin pervert back for more now the nights are drawing in.... 10 The shops who sell middle aged ladies clothes......we want sleeves, elasticated waists and comfort. NOT adolescent's clothes in (much) larger sizes. NOT tent-like satin things covered in massive purple and yellow flowers. NOT peculiar garments designed for the huntin', shootin', fishin' gentry with strange pockets everywhere... This is fun...

I'll just quickly answer Mich on this middle name thing. Mich, rikita said she can only see 'only ark' as my username. bjd asked if my middle name is Noah - making 'Noah ark', as a joke. I then said is was 'Centralp' to follow on, making 'Centralpark'. My middle name isn't really Centralp.

myrt - your number 8 - I asked an American man once where I could buy a cap like his with the peak at the back. I said I could only find them with the peak at the front. He wasn't sure how to take me.
Your number 7 - it's jail house chic if you didn't know. Forgive me if you did. When entering custody they remove your belt, thus your trousers hand down below your underpants. 'Young un's' like to copy it, as does my son, who is we are trying to get out of the habit by using three tactics - if I see him I pull his trousers down to his knees, if my wife sees him she gives him a swift kick up the arse and if my daughters see him like this they give him a slapped butt cheek. It's not worked yet but makes us laugh anyway.

re #35 we have tod2.
I've asked before - who were Kerouac1 and tod1?
I'd second most of Myrt's choices (not the ladies clothes one of course.....). That trouser thing is really irritating (which, of course, is why they do it).

Oh I thought I answered that Mick! Tod, & Tod2 are all ME,me,me! I found that when I tried to register on Anyport they would not allow me to use tod as I was already registered with that name on Fodors. I just copied Kerouac (Fodors) who I saw had just added a 2 behind his name here. I might be Tod1 somewhere else Can't remember .......

Re: #35 ~~ Mich is modestly not pointing out that her handle has two (2) numbers. I found that when I tried to register on Anyport they would not allow me to use tod as I was already registered with that name on Fodors. This forum has no way of knowing how people are registered on another forum. Also, you can register a three-letter name. (I don't know if names can be shorter than that or not.) I wonder why you weren't allowed to be Tod. Odd. Re: caps ~~ I thought that men routinely turned the bills of their caps to the back when they needed to do something where the bill would be in the way. And I assume sometimes they forget to turn them right way around again. I didn't know that it was a fashion statement to wear them backwards. Maybe we need to invest in the beanie industry.

Baseball catchers did it (do it) depending on the position of the sun. Cameramen have to do it whether or not the sun is shining, indoors or outdoors.
