Rikita, your photos always seem to reveal an artist's eye for color, tone and composition.

One of my goals is to be able to take clear, close-up shots like the photos posted here. Beautiful flowers with pollinators, Kerouac.

Kerouac your shots are very good but if you are aiming for the ultimate perfection shot, I think you will need a mini-tripod. I saw some strange looking little tripods in Canada that affixed themselves onto a railing or similar. The legs looked like they were made of some pliable material that could twist and grip in all directions for stability. Even when one thinks you are holding the camera perfectly still , the merest tremor ruins the shot.

I know, I know, but I am not an ultimate perfectionist. I take a bee photo if I can get it within 5 seconds; otherwise I am not waiting around.

Ditto. I thought I'd commented on the lovely "ladies who lunch" butterflies, but no. Super pic!

Every time I look at these pollinator photos I am awed by the talent here and shamed by my feeble attempts. Such marvelous pictures!

Bumblebees are the easiest because they are slow. But of course one's biggest ally is a totally intoxicating flower -- some of these flowers just put the bees into a helpless stupor.

I'm not sure if its me or my camera - probably a combination of both - but I have a very difficult time getting clear close-up shots.

Thank you for the lovely comments guys. Fabulous pics K2 . I do not know why but I have really struggled to capture close ups of bees this year, even though there are lots of them around ( thank goodness) Here are a couple I have just about managed

Perfect shots. When you look at their workplace up close, it looks like bees have to be really smart to figure out exactly where the goodies are.

htmb, here is a little Gulf Fritillary to go with yours above. Sucking on the same flower, as well! Taken this past weekend on Amelia Island. The place was rife with these little beauties.
