It really is a very nice photo, Amboseli! Hard to believe we haven't had any new pollinator photos since September.

1. European insects go on holiday during the winter because they don't like the cold. 2. Nothing to pollinate.

fab photos Amboseli and Htmb Only the very odd one here at the moment although I did take this pic on Feb 18th - it was a super sunny day but cold , guess these were just coming out of their hive for a quick poop

Super pics from top to bottom in here. Amboseli, that first pic is stunning and HTMB's to follow.
It's funny that I can see familiar blooms from previous years as evidenced in K2's cherry blossoms. It also made me flash back to the lovely magnolia outside of your mother's residence. A very bittersweet remembrance. I have them too when I think that the French Lilac that I gave my mother is likely blooming right now.

I haven't looked in here for the last couple of months, so missed that drop-dead fabulous photograph by Htmb and the delightful spy's eye view by Lugg. It's lovely to see Kerouac's delicately beautiful Spring revival of the thread.

I'm going to try and ID what kind of butterfly that is in HTMB's pic unless you know what it is or someone else. I know it's not native to here and I fancy myself to be an amateur lepidopterist, it is stunning.

Go for it, Casimira! It's not native to the southeastern US. I'm certain I took that picture in the Florida Museum of Natural History's butterfly enclosure, so you might look on their website.

I'm confused then HTMB. If it was in the Florida Museum, that's in the SE US. Or, they exhibit non native exotic butterflies? (I kind of disapprove of that personally. It's a peeve of mine to remove living things out of their native territory. In some places it is actually against the law I've been told.)

They are a research facility. They study butterflies from all over the world and work to preserve and protect their native habitats.

I realize now the ridiculousness of that post. I recall the New York Museum of Natural History having an exhibit of butterflies from around the world which I missed going to by one day. There is however some kind of legal statute regarding the illegal purchasing of non native exotic species and allowing them to be let go into a different environment. It happened just recently right here in my neighborhood. There is a woman, who is a bit off kilter to begin with, who was doing this and found out by someone who had a connection with whatever agency oversees this. She was not jailed but had to pay a really hefty fine.

Your bee with blossoms is very nice, Kerouac. It's good to know the pollinators are now out and about in Paris.

Those flowers attract a lot of pollinators. A butterfly this time.
