I suppose that some sort of firefly was behind it?

Gorgeous pic Lugg!!
Beautiful Mick.
I remember when you were struggling with getting these gems to bloom. Looks like you succeeded and then some.
I miss mine, I lost them some years back for one reason or another. I suspect they got shaded out where the ever growing Live Oak tree has produced a huge canopy.
I should have transplanted them back then but never got around to it.

I never had a problem with this one. It was the sexy coloured hybrids that I struggled with but thenI cracked the problem, planted too deep.
Now I plant them just below the surface and plenty of flowers!

I have one in my garden that was beautiful but has not flowered for about 3 years . It comes back initially strong but then fades away to nothing. I think maybe I should try to lift and replant it shallower ...given what you have said Mick ? it is worth a try anyway I guess.

As much as I like those flowers for their weird beauty, I just rip the vines out whenever they start growing, which they do like weeds.

I guess that they thrive much better in your area bjd. Here I have to pander to them, but have now managed to get it to grow over the garden shed. I do occasionally get some off shoots - but they are quickly snapped up by friends/family.

This whole page is filled with wonderful images, as is appropriate for Spring. And at least it will be something nice to look back on for Spring of 2020.
That last picture is Gaura, I believe. Is the one above it some kind of aquatic plant?

Yes, it is some sort of water lily.

I needed to take some photos for my photo club but the weather was absolutely foul, so no trips outdoors (at least for my camera) . So I took some images in my house ... this one is a close up of a rose in my birthday bouquet. live.staticflickr.com/65535/50963346691_a040aea775_c.jpg
