I don't much like cacti (sorry, Mick) but that first picture looks like the stems have been sewn up with purple thread!

These are fabulous!! I agree with BJD about how the first one appears, the second one looks like a cacti high rise complex somewhere in a place like Dubai..... Good eye!! I love this thread!!

casi's photo gives just a glimpse of some other succulents behind the subject plant. Another perspective!

Cheery, I didn't detect any scent from it. There's a picture of its dainty little tree at #210 in Trees.

Thanks, all. I guess reproduction is what flowers are all about, sexy little things that they are.
The last one was white, but Kerouac made it blush.

That last one is fantastic! Is the first one Wistaria?

Yes, that's a wisteria. We've had it for at least ten years before it bloomed for the first time. We had almost decided to get rid of it! So glad we didn't.

Yes, that last picture is definitely a winner. Amboseli, when you have time, please check out the Putting Down Roots board. It's not only about gardening, but the gardeners there are always thrilled to welcome another.

Superb Amboseli! I have my finger's crossed that we will see loads and loads of Wisteria in full bloom when we get to Holland, Paris and England in April/May! There is a particularly beautiful pergola of Wisteria at the original house and garden of the Late Lord Leverhulme, in Hampstead Heath.
