i had a water bottle on me, but i'd have had to get off the bike to get it... so rather not... but well, in that case it was in a park like area so i guess it is normal for people to let their dogs run there... on a normal street i sometimes find it a bit annoying when dogs run around without the owner looking who they run up to...
well, actually it is the day before the anniversary, as the anniversary itself is a sunday, and since we are doing our official wedding (our indian one isn't recognized by the german government), we have to do it on saturday... after the ceremony we go eat at a tamil restaurant with my family and a friend of mr. r, and afterwards we do a boat tour...

How nice that you're honoring the first wedding by having Indian food after the second one. The boat tour was an inspired idea -- entertainment & camaraderie together. Okay, okay -- just because everyone has begged, here are the doggies. Cutie goes back to Lupita tomorrow, then on to Lupita's mother. I hope they give her a nice life, as she is an extremely sweet and smart little dog. At first I thought she was homely, but she grows on you with her bright eyes. She sort of looks like a schnauzer ....... or a platypus. Here's what they're usually doing -- tussling, except when they're racing back and forth preparatory to more tussling. Hi big human. For some reason Darla looks as big as or bigger than Cutie in all these pictures, although she's actually smaller. Look at that tail go! Darla -- this picture is almost life size! Cutie -- she usually has one or both ears inside out.

So glad you've found another doggie to love, bixa. I've been gone a lot and missed hearing what happened to Ginger. (If you care to share. Again.)

Those puppies really look like they are expecting something from you! And it had better be tasty.

Kimby, if I happen across where I wrote about Ginger's disappearance, I'll alert you. I'm really not up to telling it again. Those puppies want me to wear longer skirts so they can grab at them with their needly teeth. Each one would like to be the only one to be picked up and petted. And of course they're using mind control so I'll go get The Good Stuff out of the fridge to give them instead of kibble. As many of you know, today is Tuesday. I was supposed to be keeping Cutie until Monday. Where is Lupita?

As it happens, I just came back inside from passing Cutie back to Lupita. I didn't know she was a medical student. Since I know what brutal schedules they have, I'm completely willing to cut her some slack, especially since she's so nice.
It came out that she's not eager to give Cutie to her mom as the mother doesn't allow dogs in the house. Lupita would like to keep her, but is at school all day. I gave her the # & contact person for the gringo library where Cutie might well find a home that involves lap sitting, treats, etc.

Here...my lad has joined the local branch of CND (Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament).....he went to a meeting last night and was the only member under 60. I was a member in the 1970s.....

Good for your boy! I'm really surprised that there were no younger people at the meeting. I would have thought that it naturally would have kept attracting each new crop of concerned young adults with each passing decade.

I think that they have links with a few other organisations, basically they have to these days because not many folk are joining...Russ went to his first meeting and has already been opted onto the committee.... ;D

The Christmas lights are going up on the Champs Elysées. They are using a new style this year from what I can see, very high tech.

Hah, Cheery -- I know two other people who joined organizations that at the time had dwindled to oldsters. One was my sister, who six years later now says she doesn't want to be an officer anymore. The other person went to a heritage association meeting to please his dad back in the 1970s or 80s. He's still president of that organization.
Hope you get some pics, Kerouac. The first time I saw hyper-modern Christmas lights I was hooked. It was at Christmas in the Oaks, in City Park in New Orleans. The combination of that R2D2 looking stuff gleaming out of the ancient oaks and Spanish moss in the dark was magical.

hm, here the christmas market-thingy on alexanderplatz is already there. kind of really early.
oh and i bought a bra and underwear and actually spent money on it. i feel bad now. i never spend a lot on clothes, i usually find it a bit of a waste. but i wanted something nice for the (second) wedding, and when i realized that most things in the shop cost more than i wanted to spend, the woman had already show me lots so i didn't want to not buy anything...

It was exactly how I expected -- far from perfect but definitely usable. I was able to cover various tax problems with my friend in Brazil since I am now receiving all of his mail (postal mail does not seem to arrive in Sao Paolo).
I was fascinated to watch night falling out the window behind him as midnight approached in Paris.

Hope you got something you really like, Rikita. Truly, there is little nicer in this world than a nice bra. Enjoy the little splurge and don't feel badly.
I've never Skyped, I used Gizmo before Google bought it and killed it, but that just felt like regular telephone.
It is funny how we always envision the people around the world with whom we're communicating as being in our same time zone. Often, when people on the forum say they can't see pictures or something because they're at work, I think "at this hour?!"

I can't go on social networking sites at all at work which is a real bummer....it used to help pass the time of....er...night...when I was oncall. Mind you, it was so busy last night I wouldn't have had time.

But unless both parties have a webcam, you can't be seen by your caller, can you? Just don't use a webcam & speak in a sultry voice. You'll make someones life a great deal richer.
I can see why someone who's job requires them to monitor security cameras or something would be blocked from playing on the internet. But in your on-call situation, Cheery, it seems that anything that would keep you alert and stimulated would be encouraged.

Turning on the TV Sunday morning at 7am, the very first thing I saw was a man painting a portrait using only his penis as a tool.

skype can be useful... i skyped with my mom when i was in india and it made her quite happy to be able to see me... she didn't have a computer at home last times i was abroad for a longer time...
as for the bra, it is really nice, but wearing it under a sari blouse that had been too tight already before i put on more weight, was a bit painful. i really dislike those iron wires in the bras, but there were no nice ones iwthout them. well the woman in the shop said if they bother me i can take them out...

Hmmm. Had made plans to go with someone to Oaxaca's municipal cemetery tonight. That person has been drinking, though, and I'm totally not into that.
What now? Go by myself, which is fine, but it's also tempting to not go. If I stay, I have to hustle out & get some candy, as this is the night the neighborhood kids trick or treat. (minor complaint about Mexico: if they're gonna trick or trick, they need to do it on Oct. 31, when a person might actually be prepared for them)
*dither, dither*

You must have been a laugh a minute at work today.
Incidentally, it appears you still have work. What's going on with you union rabble-rousers?
