Wear walking boots. I thought in the 35 years since I last clambered round the Acropolis they would have done some smoothing of the rocky access. I was wrong.

So .... why didn't you write ahead and tell them you were coming? ;D
Seriously, Baz, it's great to hear from you. How many days will you all be there before moving on to Crete? Can't wait to hear all about it. Will the lovely and accommodating Mrs. Faz be taking all the photos, or are you going to be snapping away, too?

You mean they haven't installed the escalators yet like at Machu Pichu and Angkor Wat?

I am very cross that the choice of words by Baz Faz has condemned me to an ad for Ugg boots at the top of the page.

Shoes that seem fine for hours on end walking on American streets and sidewalks won't seem so fine after a few hours on typical Euro old city cobblestones either.

Are there really escalators at Angkor Wat?

Of course not. But after recovering from my own death defying climb to the top, I saw some other people on the verge of death climbing up in the tropical heat, and I couldn't resist saying to them "Hey, why didn't you take the escalator on the back side?"

Yes, it was a scary climb up Ankor. It definitely aged me. This must be why the ad at the top of this page reads: Reduce wrinkles by 83.7%. I love the precision.

I don't trust ads claiming improvements unless they take it to two decimal places. Lying with imprecision is slacking.

Ha, fumo! I like my pseudoscience to have lots of corroborative detail, too.
