Hello Everyone; We are taking our granddaughters on a cruise Aug 2011. We start and return to Rome. We will be visiting, Dubrovnik, Corfu, Olympia, Santorini Ephesus, Athens and Messina. I posted in the Greece thread because it is where we will be spending the most time and I am not familiar with Greece. So, it is wide open for any suggestions, places to see and where to eat. Go.....! (PS, full days in all of the Greek ports).

Yes me too Bixa. They will be 19 and 20. They are gorgeous young women and since we are arriving in Rome a few days early I am probably going to have to have Gramps beat the young Italian men off with a stick!!!! I kid you not!!!!

Don't let them out of your sight! I've never been on a cruise. Longest time at sea was on ferries between France/ Italy and Northern Africa, I think they were just about 24 hours.

I'm just about the only member of my family who has never been on a Mediterranean cruise. Even my grandmother went on a cruise that took her to Greece, Israel and Egypt. Unfortunately, she didn't see much for the second half of the cruise as she tripped over a bulkhead and broke her collarbone. She and her sister and brother-in-law actually took the train from Marseille to Metz after the cruise. She was in excruciating pain and they put a body cast on her at the hospital the next day. I guess people who lived through two world wars take this sort of mishap in stride and just don't complain like the rest of us.
