Yeah, but would you do it with three eggs?
Okay, I have a base mind, but that Lord of the Rings makes me envision a sort of trashy, under-age wifey presenting it to her husband on the occasion of their first anniversary, with a nudge-nudge "guess what you'll be getting later!" to accompany it.

I'm not sure if this is the best place to post this, as it's not an image. But it IS an abominable sounding recipe. (Note: I just LOVE these JofC recipes that make you jump back and forth from page to page, finding components to complete some wonderfully obscure dish from say, 1935.) I was browsing through the Joy of Cooking, in search of Braised Turnips, when I stumbled upon this obscure and rare receipt for (are you ready?)... CUCUMBER ANCHOVY CASSEROLE I'll just outline this apparent abomination: You need 2 cups of preared Mulled Cucumbers, which are pared, seeded and sliced cukes simmered in boiling water until nearly tender. Drained and seasoned with S&white pepper, heavy cream, grated nutmeg or dillweed or celery seeds. OR with lemon butter, or tomato sauce or Soubise or Onion Sauce. O.k. After preparing the Mulled cucumbers, (basic prep, I'm sure; no sauce) you then make 1 cup of White Sauce and add 1 TBSP Anchovy Paste. Place the vegetable in a baking dish and pour the hot sauce over it. Cover with Au Gratin III, p. 553. (Dry bread crumbs, dots of butter and grated cheese) Bake at 400º F until top is brown. Who'll be the first to try out this obviously venerable (and past its prime) recipe? Hands? What would you serve it with?

You forgot to mention the hash browns? English muffin? accompanying the Coronary Brkfst Club. That is exceptionally ugly gravy, but note how the slop is served on a very attractive plate -- far too fine for whomever eats that stuff.

I like to be creative with some foods, like making toasted pizza sandwiches and having chips with pasta or mashed potato. Hey, I am a redneck OK? My food diary makes grown men cringe! Undernourished is about the only word with the "under" prefix that does NOT apply!
I also like the look of the Burger with Mac cheese on it further up this page too. Doesn't everyone secretly crave one?

I was just going to say! Yeah, those nachos could work! And the Rubix is nothing different than the cubed items from a snack plate, interestingly arranged. 'Course, it does sort of remind me of the great Julia Child line: "It's so beautifully arranged on the plate, you just know someone's fingers have been all over it."

I expect several of you to fall in love with this the moment you set your eyes on it. The Uruguayan Chivito A roast beef sandwich with lettuce, tomato, cheese, basil garlic mayo, hard boiled egg, pickles, red peppers, green olives, onions, ham, and bacon on a white bread bun.

I think the pickles are overkill.
What's that goop on the bottom, between the lettuce & the roast beef?
