When you ask someone from Michigan where they live they usually show you their hand and point. Really, I am just trying to figure out how to post a picture.

Nice, Mark, but looking at the quoted version of what you did, I see you don't know the easy trick, either. Louis, if you look at your link, there is an s after the http part at the beginning of the link. It's a security thing, but if you remove that letter s, the link will work. Before: fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/308872_303069419720185_100000513875390_1220616_2140165266_n.jpgAfter: http://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/308872_303069419720185_100000513875390_1220616_2140165266_n.jpg Now, just put the image tags around the s-less version & you've got yourself a picture. Anyway ........ that's fascinating! I know people always say that Michigan is in the shape of a mitten, but how clever to exploit that by turning the hand into a map. Is this done all over the state?

Thank you Mark. bixaorellana, thank you for that little secret.
Yes, many people do that. They just point to a place on the palm of their hand. Now all I have to do is have my palm tattooed with the roads and I am all set to go. Well it looks like I will have to have both palms done, the left for the UP and the right for the Lower Peninsula.

Wow, that's cool! 68 years old and still learning. FYI: I live in Traverse City.

I've done that. I used to live at the two dots on the heel of the palm.

But Louis, if you get tattooed with a double "palm pilot" (heh heh), there will be times when you can't check it -- like when you're driving & have to shift. ;D

Wisconsin is (sort of) mitten shaped too, but they don't get credit for it.

Wyoming should be the patron state of cardboard boxes, but Colorado would probably fight with it.
