I love this guy's blog. He's comes up with great photo essays of hidden spots in the city. For this post, though, he helpfully spotlights the famous ones. www.scoutingny.com/?p=1292

Thanks for posting the link - it was fun going on a virtual tour of NYC this evening.

I love the effect that guy uses on his photos -- wish they were bigger!

He's being snarky, the pictures were taken at Disney, Orlando Studios, and Vegas. Even though I live here, he still had me going for a minute there.

What! How did I miss that? Now I'm going to have to go back and take another look! And you didn't even give us poor ignorant souls (I'm talking about myself and not Bixa) a clue. I can just imagine you giggling in the background.

He got me, too! I was a little confused but it wasn't until I got to the picture of the "NY Public Library" that shows a bit of a rollercoaster track that I said "Wait a minute!" Some of the New Yorkers in the comments section said they spotted the fake subway from the first photo.

I got to the Plaza and thought, wait. Removed upper stories? For economy? My daughter and I are headed there for a week in January, so it's a good overview anyway.

I had a friend in Boston whose close friend hit the jackpot and fell in love with someone with an annual suite at the Plaza. I was later invited to share it with her, but I never managed to go the NYC at the right time. Damn.
