I was also shocked at the thought of Bixa coveting the fox ;D Great photos Nycgirl and I enjoyed seeing the subtle snoitcelfer( s) of yourself, maybe an idea for image thread ? Also loved the view of Manhattan through the fence

Thanks, everyone!
It's funny, there are a few scenester bars in the city that have rustic decor and taxidermied animals, so if I had ambitions to open up a new bar, the fox might actually be a good investment.
Bixa, I also loved that girl's colorful floral ensemble. I saw a lot of cute and/or quirky outfits.

Some of those people look like they should be for sale, too.
I have known people to have mannequin arms for keeping their bracelets and rings.
I think the cat behind the fox looks interesting as well.

Are all those people locals, nycgirl, or are there tourists too? Speaking of taxidermy, I just went to the market and a guy selling sausages had a taxidermied boar's head on his counter.

Oooo ~~ more cool stuff and fabulous pics! Before emoting, I just want to say that no one has caught the other fox, front & center in one of the photos. Lotsa great people pictures here. I really like the one with the girl in the I ❤ NY dress -- the scene is so nicely composed. Ha ha ~~ Bad Girls Club Barbies w/noitcelfer! The dolls' heads photo is super. I know eggzackly what I'd do with those arms! Yum, Bjd. Did you buy some tête fromagée? ;D

Nino Quincampoix in Amélie would snap up those photo machine strips.
But I do wonder who would buy the half melted vinyl record displayed with the jewelry.

Bjd, there was a good mix of tourists and locals. I heard French and Japanese being spoken that day, and I'm sure there were some American tourists as well. I imagine most of them were locals, though, since they had the "Williamsburg hipster" look. Bixa, good idea! You'd make a great spooky castle decorateur. Nino Quincampoix in Amélie would snap up those photo machine strips. That's right, he would. Such a good movie.

nycgirl, this is wonderful. Start to... well, most recent. You can't update this too much. I love the hipster scene.
One of my old buddy's mother crammed her house with Hillbilly Tacky decor, like shelves of gaudy salt n pepper shakers. On her kitchen wall she had hooks shaped like a woman's manicured finger, beckoning. I thought of them as the Wall Sirens. That mannikin arm could serve a similar practical purpose in small NYC apartment: affix to wall, and you have instant attitude hall closet. (I'm thinking of this friend, because I just sent him a vintage hillbilly tacky birthday postcard showing guy with long grey beard sleeping under a tree. The caption: "Sorry I ain't wrote. Too damn busy.")

His mother taught me how to can peaches. She was really something.
nycg, did you happen to notice how much that Fauvist portrait painter charged? Granted his sitter came ready made, the artist is painting the heck out of that cardboard.
