Ken Russell was my favourite director for about 5 years, when he made Women in Love, The Music Lovers, The Devils... And then we slowly parted ways as his work became both more mainstream and more weird.
As far as I'm concerned, he absolutely created Glenda Jackson.

Did you ever see the biographies he did for tv? It was either for bbc or US public tv. I know he did one on Rosetti. There was one on Isadora Duncan, too, but can't say positively that was his.
I need to see Women in Love again. I saw it multiple times when it first came out. *genuflects at the mention of Glenda Jackson* ................... "Nothing materializes!"
The Music Lovers really got to me in one of those ways I can't explain. Had to walk out of The Devils at the end. Yeek!
I saw all of those when they were first released. It says something that I can still remember them so vividly all these years later.

I remember seeing Women in Love, but don't think I would watch it again. Seeing part of that youtube video makes me think it might not have aged so well. In fact, I think anything by D.H. Lawrence wouldn't have aged very well either.
I didn't see anything else by Ken Russell though.
