Let's face it, Christmas season can be a time of waste -- party foods that set out for too long; all that wrapping paper; theme items for once a year, etc.
Who has some ideas to share for enhancing the season by reducing the waste? Here's a way to wrap gifts so that the wrapping becomes part of the gift ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ > Go to this link for a great video full of ideas and some instructions. more complete instructions: furoshiki.com/techniquesHey, what about that nice but overgrown plant with naked stems you've been meaning to deal with? Use little succulent plants to hang as ornaments. Not only would you not have to haul the ornaments back up to the attic at the end of the holidays, but they'd reproduce & make more for next year!- Here's a link on the idea plus what it would cost if you didn't do it yourself.

great ideas, Bixa!
I know of families who wrap the presents in cloth bags so they can be re-used each year.
People with children can use some clean refuse (plastic bottles and other packaging, ribbons, nice paper and cardboard) to make christmas decorations and the nicest can be kept for the following year, and more made as needed.
etc etc etc
