For probably the first time I've scrolled right down to the bottom of the page on here and examined the flag counter. I was aware of it but never really looked at it. After clicking on it for more information I find that it supposedly records the number of unique visitors from each country.
I just like to say hello to the other twenty five people who seem to have visited here from Jordan - and the person who visited a few days ago, the sole representative of the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Are they really unique visitors? There are 507 people in Cambodia that have looked in

Well I've just put the same flag counter on my website and it has detected me going to it twice but only has the number one against my flag. So maybe it's true.

It probably detects the IP addresses and only counts them once.
I confess that it intrigues me and I would have a lot of questions to ask Mr. Flag Counter if he showed up.

Even though I know we get a lot of traffic, looking at the flags on the counter surprises me, although it shouldn't.
However, consider this -- not only do members & visitors link things out, anyport gets picked up by the crawlers for all the search sites. Those 507 people who looked in from Cambodia, for instance -- HW's Kampot & Koh Tonsay thread, which has been viewed 853 times, comes up 4th if you google those names. Fourth! on Google! And that's checking only one of his Cambodia threads. And of course people not in Cambodia are looking at that thread as well.

Considering how small this site is, it has been pretty successful at pulling in visitors from everywhere in the world. However, I noticed that a number of places have only provided one visitor, so I urge you to encourage all of your friends and family who live in these places to come and take a look at the site:
Greenland, Faroe Islands, Zimbabwe, Falkland Islands, Dominica, Lesotho, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Sierra Leone, Paraguay, Seychelles, Cook Islands, Anguilla, Andorra, Mali, Eritrea, Libya, New Caledonia, Fiji, Gambia

Yes, I saw Somalia arrive the other day. Nice to think that at least one person there visited Anyport instead of dying in a famine or shooting rebels (or government thugs).

We added a new country today: Liberia. Actually there are very few countries left to add.
Just for the record, our top ten countries are:
1. United States 43.0% 2. United Kingdom 11.5% 3. France 9.3% 4. Canada 8.3% 5. Australia 4.7% 6. Germany 2.5% 7. Mexico 1.5% 8. Netherlands 1.2% 9. (tie) India (1.1%) Thailand (1.1%)

We have had 13 visitors from Syria. Maybe not many more in the near future.
However, he have had 53 visitors from Zambia.

Just looked at the flag counter & the top five countries of visitors to anyport are US, UK, France, Canada, & Australia. In terms of fairly impressive visitor numbers after those five, are Germany and Mexico.
