That is truly fabulous, Louis. I only saw the Sistine Chapel once, in 1971, so it is really amazing to be able to look at all of the details at will, with no crowd.

 How did I miss seeing this?! It's so clear and glorious -- and you get the whole place to yourself! Does anyone know the purpose of the skinny railing up high on both walls?

I saw it in 1970! That was the only time too. I don't think we had to stand in line for hours though or buy tickets in advance, although it has been ages.
The video Louis posted is obviously after the Japanese-funded renovation a few years ago. But it was already pretty impressive 40 years ago.
