Good news for our members in New York. The NYC subway system has started a rat photo contest where you can show off your best rats. Apparently you can win a free annual subway pass, so that you can spend even more time with the rats. Rat Free Subways

This is too funny, and yet,why not?? The video of the rat dragging away the whole slice of pizza is hysterical!! Good luck NYC,the rats are going be around for a long time, they were here before we got there and will belong after we're gone, along with the cockroaches etc.
What a hoot!!!! ;D

We could use a contest like this in Paris, too.

I sure could use a free subway pass, but I don't think I can top the entries so far.
That video of the rat with the pizza is so hilarious! But the one of the rat running all over that guy makes my skin crawl.

The world campaign for the Nissan Juke shows the sort of rat that we probably wouldn't mind seeing in the subway. (appears at about the 1:10 mark)

Oh cute!! The original OP site has a very funny typo in it,it says "they invest the refuse rooms of the subways..." It would pay for them to invest in proof reading I would think...

Without looking up alternate meanings of "invest" in English, I can say that it is not incorrect in French, because "invest" can also mean to make it one's home.

I just assumed they were aiming for infest.

We will never know unless they change the wording one of these days.

I saw my first NYC rat early this evening. Fortunately it was in a park on 2nd Avenue, and not on the subway. Now I'm wondering if the problem of subway rats has improved since this thread was started in 2012.
