Anyone interested? I could also compile a thread about this city.

Do you really have to ask??! I'd be all over that in a minute -- everyone would!

Definitely!
I was there sometime in the early 80s last. Could have been 83 or 84. I've always wanted to return.

When I was there I was in my spring or Easter holidays. My parents forced me to take my younger brother along, I remember that. What I remember most was the huge cherries they were selling in the markets, as big as apricots and dark red. And it was the first time my father drank with me. We shared a small bottle of raki with lots of fishy and seafoody stuff near the Galata bridge. ;D

And the yogurt!
But I (literally) couldn't stomach the tripe filled sandwich/wrap we ate!

I had a powerful urge to visit the Grand Market every day! Bought a few things but just watched the people go about their business.Tourist groups, school kids and the colours of brilliant birds.

With the Turkish lira falling even faster than inflation can catch up, now is the very best time for a quick trip. (If only they were covid-free...)

One of the loveliest cities i know. Well several cities in one.
Absolutely charming people, but one of my friends, being gay, tells me they are atrociously homophobes...
Where can i book a ticket ?
