For anybody else who knows that this sort of information should be absorbed but who finds this woman's tone and delivery relatively unbearable (as well as unfabulous visuals), do what I did -- play it in a different window and listen to it while you surf on other sites. I was able to get through the entire thing and get at least a bit of information while not suffering too much. Nevertheless, some of the pedantic bullshit is a bit trying and it would have preferred to just see a list of things that we should eat a lot of to avoid health problems.

I think the main message is: Eat fresh, local, seasonal, organic (if possible). Lots and lots of fruit and veg, nuts, some meat, some fish, some carbs.
Taken in the context of how people in the "more developped" world eat these days - mostly highly processed carbs, fats and meats and not much of the green thing.

Unfortunately, I think not many people want to hear that.
people seem to want to eat garlic bread with their pasta in meat sauce (as opposed to pasta with some meat sauce, served with a salad on the side)

There are a few details that people want to hear (although I don't think that this detail was in this video) -- the fact that turmeric seems to help prevent Alzheimer's stuck in my mind permanently and has definitely caused me to increase my use of it.

turmeric also eats cancer for breakfast, K2!
I wonder if it's partly because of its antioxidative effect that turmeric is so effective against these two scourges of humanity. Because it prevents and fights inflammation. So if this was the case, we need more antioxidants and you can find loads in a varied diet with lots of locally sourced, seasonal, preferably organic fruit and vegetables...

Always good to know. I read a few years back when they noticed India's "abnormally low" incidence of senile dementia that they closely examined the local diet and found what appeared to be the important factor -- the turmeric in the curry.
I'm sure that India is quite happy to even be thinking about senile dementia these days. As recently as 20 years ago, we probably all would have shrugged and said "of course they don't have senility in India. They don't live long enough to get senile!"

K2, one of the things I read about curcumin (the active element in turmeric) is that - if I am not mistaken, quoting off the top of my head here - the bioavailability of turmeric is potentiated something like x1000 with the presence of black pepper (piper nigrum). Also, it seems they tried, but were not able to find any evidence of unwanted/negative secondary effects of consuming turmeric on the long term - they checked that on high doses of 15g/day.
Although I must add that they believe that such high doses should not be consumed by people under anti-coagulant medicine as high doses of curcumin may potentiate the effects of the anti-coagulant medicine. This has not been proved, but is an extrapolation of the knowledge that curcumin has some anti-coagulant effect at high doses of 15g/day and more.

You are going to be struck dumb when I tell you a famous brand of washing powder is using a man with this same 'wrinkled head' condition to give viewers the schpiel. His head looks like that from the front as well......must be an advertising ploy- ?
