Great stuff, Lugg! I enjoyed seeing the details about the church's ancient archway and the soap opera parts about Hardwicke, etc. are super.

Hi Bixa - glad you enjoyed the link. I think Bess of Hardwicke was amazing , she captured my imagination long ago.

Super stuff lugg. I did skim that same article when I made the thread but see I missed quite a lot of info, more detail about the stone door carving for example. Hardwick Hall is/was something I intend(ed) to do a thread on 'whenever I was back there and got round to it'. There are quite a few unknown but interesting places around the area and I only wish I had time to do justice to them. As regards football, since Clough stopped being the Manager of Forest I've lost all real interest in either of the Notts teams.
Nice to know there are other connections to Notts and I'm not surprised Teversal was not known, it's a very small village anyway.

Thank you very much for the photos of Teversal. My 4x g parents were married at Teversal and my 3x great grandmother was born there in 1792. I shall be visiting the UK in 2014 and am intending to come to Teversal so was delighted to see the photos. Deb
