hint.fm/wind/You need some sort of Chrome download, I think, to view it. This is of the US, but I imagine those for other continents exist. My husband says it's helpful to predict how good the birding will be -- something about helping blow the little guys in. I find it interesting this weekend, when it shows wind blowing straight up from the Gulf to our St. Louis area. Yesterday was up to 94º F here and very humid, not your typical MO May. I also see a diagonal line stretching from TX up through OK, where the Canadian and Gulf winds meet. To my untrained eye this looks like tornado path.

It works for me. Looks pretty cool actually. Do birds really go where the wind blows? I find that hard to believe. Now if you were talking about butterflies, just maybe....

The way I understand it, the birds and butterflies know where they want to go, but a stiff head- or tailwind can either speed em up or make it more of a struggle.
