As it's spring the gardens seem a little muted compared to the ones you see in the summer...but it was still interesting. There were numerous stalls selling plants also stalls selling everything from Persian rugs to clothing. The highlight for me is always the Floral Marquee, where Nurseries and other suppliers put on magnificent displays as well as having stalls selling plants like those featured in the displays.

bored yet? The Royal Horticultural Society's members' lounge (tent) was great...we had lovely young waiters, very nice food and a classical guitarist to serenade us as we cooed over our purchases... and flowers on the tables... We had a lovely day and bought some really nice plants, things that I wouldn't be able to buy locally or grow myself from seed.

oh, CPB! You've just opened a flood of souvenirs from the 2010 edition when I volunteered on a charity stall there. We were pitched just outside the Floral Marquee and I remember taking breaks wandering into it, taking the plants in.
And I think I know the lady in pink in your OP picture!
Small world!

Ohhhhhhh!! Just now seeing this, & what a tremendous treat. I just love how all the displays, even the show gardens, point the way to achieving similar effects in the home garden. And nothing looks "installed". The 4th show garden, with the hostas, the wonderful wall, the water feature, & the seating area just about put me around the bend with gibbering garden pleasure. But it's all gorgeous, desirable, AND informative. Bet you wanted to buy the place out. So nifty to see things that sometimes only seem to exist in catalogs. Thanks for taking us along. If your laptop starts feeling better, maybe it'll feel like coughing out some more pics, yes?

Lovely photo essay, Cheery. Those show gardens really have splendid presentation.
My favorite photo is the one of the cacti. They're so cute and petite, and I like the wide array of colors and shapes.

This sort of display always revives my distant rural genes and makes me understand that there are indeed some drawbacks to living in the middle of a big stone city.

Enjoyed looking at this Cheery, loved the Bee garden especially.
I did not go this year, but my hub walked the length of the Malverns on the Sunday of the festival and said that it looked quieter than ususal.
